Carpooling.com celebrates Earth Day 2012
18/04/2012 09:00 AM
April 22nd is the day when Earth Day will be marked again.
The movement started in 1970 when the first Earth Day activated 20 million people resulting in many environmental Acts being passed. The original Earth Day has now grown to be a network of over 22,000 partners in 192 countries.
At carpooling.com we are passionate about helping our users reduce their impact on the environment by providing a hub for them to find people to travel together with.
To mark the occasion of Earth Day we calculated how much carbon dioxide we have helped our users save last year by carpooling. We were able to equate this to 186 million trees being planted.
We would not have been able to achieve this without our users! Thank you so much for helping reduce carbon dioxide emissions!
