Guidelines and Rules

carpooling.co.uk is a platform for the placement of lift offers and requests in private vehicles. We do not allow any commercial lift offers or requests!

Due to the Road Traffic Act 1988, you may only offer and request lifts on carpooling.co.uk if:

• Your vehicle is not constructed or adapted to carry more than eight passengers excluding the driver.
• The total contributions received for the journey concerned do not involve an element of profit.
• The passengers are not being carried in the course of a business of carrying passengers.

Please respect our rules and ask the reason for a journey before departure. We will fight against drivers that do not follow the rules with all means possible, but we need your help to identify any misues of the platform. Please report any commercial trips through the "Report Misuse" link or the blacklist. We will then file legal action against these drivers, together with the necessary authorities.
